Welcome to Jefferson Elementary School!
As the principal of Jefferson Elementary School, I would like to share a heartfelt welcome to all! Jefferson Elementary School has 240 students enrolled in our Kindergarten through grade five.
Jefferson students love to learn, and our staff of committed educators actively engage students in the learning process. We believe that learning is a lifelong process and we strive to provide a nurturing, safe environment where all students can achieve. We recognize that every child is unique and we emphasize respect for each person and their special gifts.
We encourage parents to partner in the educational process with us as we prepare children to be responsible, productive citizens. We strive to meet the social, emotional and academic needs of our diverse students with highly trained and engaged staff. Our staff is made up of a healthy mix of newer staff and veterans to ensure an optimal learning environment for all. Jefferson staff have been trained in a variety of techniques to assist our learners including Conscious Discipline, Love and Logic, Trauma Informed Care and Positive Behavioral Intervention Systems (PBIS).
OASD curriculum encourages differentiated instruction, so every learner is taught at their level. This allows every child to experience success in our educational setting as they grow in their educational journey. We offer hands-on learning opportunities for students to process and share their thinking, develop reasoning skills and successfully solve problems. Our educators utilize data in decision making and instruction to ensure our students achieve and succeed.
Jefferson Patriots model The Jefferson Way every day with the expectation of being kind, helpful and safe. Staff and students model and practice these traits to build a positive classroom and school culture. Jefferson Elementary staff are dedicated professionals who are committed to making our school a safe, exciting environment where learning can occur.
Jefferson families are welcomed and encouraged to be a part of our school community. Families get involved through our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), through monthly family events and in classroom celebrations. Families are also welcome to volunteer in our school, as we value the important role families play in the educational process.
