Community Learning Centers

The Oshkosh Area School District is home to community learning centers or extended-day learning programs. Lighted School House programs are at Emmeline Cook, Jefferson, Menominee, Read, and Roosevelt Elementary Schools. Middle Extended Day Learning Time (MELT) programs are at Perry Tipler and Vel Phillips Middle Schools.

The mission of the Community Learning Centers in the Oshkosh Area School District is to empower students socially and academically by providing unique extended day learning opportunities in partnership with school, families, and the community.

The program vision is to create life-long learners and compassionate citizens equipped with the necessary skills to succeed in the 21st century.

Our program focus, rather than simply homework help, is academic enrichment, which expands on students' learning in ways that differ from the methods used during the school day.

**These afterschool programs are funded in cooperation with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant Program and the Oshkosh Area School District.**
