Safe Routes to School
Jefferson Elementary School is looking to hire a Walking School Bus Coordinator! A Walking School Bus (WSB) is a safe and fun way for children to get physical activity as they travel to school with adult supervision. The “bus” will meet at the old Smith School location and walk along a set route to school with one or more adults leading it. The coordinator would be responsible for the following duties: walking the students to school five days a week, or recruiting parent volunteers to walk every day, advertising the program, registering students, coordinating day to day activities, communicating with parents, completing the necessary paperwork. This is a paid position! If the bus runs 5-14 times a semester you will receive $250 a semester, and if you walk 15-20 times you will receive $500 a semester. If you are interested in the position please contact our Safe Routes to School Coordinator Ashley at atracy@ecwrpc.org to learn more information.
Important Reminders
As the weather turns Colder and the winter wind whips briskly, we wanted to remind families to please send their children to school with the appropriate cold weather clothing. WARM winter , & are needed now that temperatures are falling. Unfortunately, the school does not have enough of these items to hand them out to students who come without the necessary clothing.
