We are excited to announce an improved field trip process for families. Beginning with the 2023-2024 school year, all field trip permission slips will be electronic and we are moving to cashless payments for field trips. This is a new process for our entire district and is meant to streamline and improve our service to families.
Additional information will be shared by teachers as they plan for field trips. However, we want to highlight the following features:
Our new online field trip process must be completed via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
All online transaction fees have been waived, including payments made by credit card, debit card, and checking/savings account.
If a field trip is sponsored by the district, the cost of the trip is waived for families who are eligible and approved to receive free and reduced priced meals. (This will be communicated to impacted families.)
Our school secretary will be available to assist families as needed and if a parent/guardian is unable to complete the online field trip process, we can provide support in-person or over the phone.
We look forward to providing your child(ren) with enriching field trip experiences that contribute to their educational journey. We appreciate your continued partnership and engagement!

Vision and Hearing Screening Month
The health office staff will be performing Vision and Hearing screenings.
Vision Screening will be conducted for students in KG (if they were not screened in 4K or failed in 4K), 2nd grade, 4th grade or for any students with referral request from teachers or parents.
Hearing Screening will be conducted for students in KG (if they have no documentation or recent results), 4th grade or for any students with referral requests from teachers or parents.
If our screening identifies a concern you will be notified via US mail. We would encourage you to follow up with your physician at that time. If you do not receive anything that means your child passed his/her screening and requires no further action.
If you would like to opt out of these free screenings, please notify the health office as soon as possible.

Dear Jefferson Families,
It is with great pleasure that I write to welcome you back to another great school year. I hope that your summer has been filled with fun family activities while enjoying the wonderful sunshine. How quickly summer concludes and our thoughts turn to preparing for the start of school. This is always one of my favorite times of the year! I love the excitement of beginning each new school year and eagerly await welcoming our students and hearing their great summer stories. I’m thrilled to be part of a team of teachers, staff, parents and students who want to achieve great things! Our faculty, staff and I are looking forward to a new school year and are working hard to see that your child’s learning experience at Jefferson is a successful and happy one.
If you have not done so, please review the 2023-2024 Family Handbook. In this handbook you will find useful information that can help you move forward with the first days of school. Additionally, please consider becoming involved in our parent community by joining the PTO, joining our PBIS team, or volunteering in a classroom. We are always open to finding ways to continue to involve parents/guardians to help create engaging learning environments that will promote success in our children.
The staff and I are eagerly waiting to welcome you to another wonderful school year and look forward to seeing families and students very soon!

Jefferson’s October theme is diversity and inclusion. The students will learn how to define diversity and inclusion. Showing respect to and accepting others in the classroom family and school family learning community are essential for building a positive school atmosphere at Jefferson. The students will also participate in activities that highlight the importance of understanding and appreciating diversity and inclusion.
Monthly Goals:
-
Students will understand the meaning of diversity and inclusion.
-
Students will grow in their skills to show respect and acceptance towards others.
