We are excited to announce an improved field trip process for families. Beginning with the 2023-2024 school year, all field trip permission slips will be electronic and we are moving to cashless payments for field trips. This is a new process for our entire district and is meant to streamline and improve our service to families.

Additional information will be shared by teachers as they plan for field trips. However, we want to highlight the following features:

Our new online field trip process must be completed via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

All online transaction fees have been waived, including payments made by credit card, debit card, and checking/savings account.

If a field trip is sponsored by the district, the cost of the trip is waived for families who are eligible and approved to receive free and reduced priced meals. (This will be communicated to impacted families.)

Our school secretary will be available to assist families as needed and if a parent/guardian is unable to complete the online field trip process, we can provide support in-person or over the phone.

We look forward to providing your child(ren) with enriching field trip experiences that contribute to their educational journey. We appreciate your continued partnership and engagement!

MEET JEFFERSON'S NEWEST STAFF MEMBERS!

My name is Maria Cibula. I am so excited to be joining the Jefferson family this year as the K-5 music teacher. I just completed my 4th year in the district at Webster Stanley Elementary and Carl Traeger Elementary Schools, and my 14th year of teaching overall. I have had the opportunity to teach in Wisconsin and Iowa K-8 general, choral, and band in my years of teaching. I thoroughly enjoy bringing a passion for music to my students. In my free time, I love reading, being outdoors, and spending time with my husband (Nick), daughter (Charlotte-2 years old), and Louie (our dog). I look forward to meeting you all soon!

Hello!! My name is Felicia Woldt and I will be the new 5th grade teacher at Jefferson for the 2023-24 school year. I have just finished my student teaching residency with Jefferson and graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin - Superior. I am super excited to transition into my new role this school year and look forward to working with everyone more closely at Jefferson. All of my free time outside of school is spent with my husband and our two beautiful daughters. We spend time camping, kayaking, and playing outside. Personal hobbies include puzzles and reading. I am excited for the next adventure and am extremely grateful to be embarking on the journey with such a wonderful staff at Jefferson!

My name is Nancy Hidde. I will be a new Cross Categorical Special Education teacher at Jefferson Elementary this school year. I have spent the last 15 plus years in education, first in a paraprofessional role and the last 5 years as a teacher. I am thrilled to be reuniting with staff I worked with in Appleton and also to meet new staff.

I live in Appleton with my husband and two dogs. I have three children, Jon 27, Liz 26 and Natalie 23. Although they are out of the house, I still find myself spending a great deal of time helping them manage “being adults”!

In my free time, I love spending time with my husband, my kids, my dogs and my kids' dogs. I also love to shop, garden and watch documentaries.

I am looking forward to a tremendous year!

Hi Jefferson families! My name is Liz Lynch and I will be the school nurse for Jefferson, Traeger Middle and Traeger Elementary next year. It will be my 8th year as a school nurse in OASD. Prior to that I worked in Neurosurgery, Infectious Disease, Emergency Room, Urgent care and phone triage. I live here in Oshkosh with my husband, Dan and three kids. Kevin is going into his freshman year in college and will be attending UW - Madison. I’m so excited to see what the year brings for him. Maggie is 16 and will be a junior at Oshkosh North. And, Ashling, last but not least, will be in 7th grade at Vel Phillips. In our free time we love to go out on our boat, hang out with friends and travel. Looking forward to meeting you next school year!

Hello Jefferson! My name is Ellie Volden and I will be transferring to Jefferson for the 23-24 year as your ESoL Teacher. Dear Jefferson Families,

It is with great pleasure that I write to welcome you back to another great school year.  I hope that your summer has been filled with fun family activities while enjoying the wonderful sunshine.  How quickly summer concludes and our thoughts turn to preparing for the start of school. This is always one of my favorite times of the year!  I love the excitement of beginning each new school year and eagerly await welcoming our students and hearing their great summer stories.  I’m thrilled to be part of a team of teachers, staff, parents and students who want to achieve great things! Our faculty, staff and I are looking forward to a new school year and are working hard to see that your child’s learning experience at Jefferson is a successful and happy one.

If you have not done so, please review the 2023-2024 Family Handbook. In this handbook you will find useful information that can help you move forward with the first days of school. Additionally, please consider becoming involved in our parent community by joining the PTO, joining our PBIS team, or volunteering in a classroom. We are always open to finding ways to continue to involve parents/guardians to help create engaging learning environments that will promote success in our children.

The staff and I are eagerly waiting to welcome you to another wonderful school year and look forward to seeing families and students very soon!

 ~Mrs. Patza
